Regarding Renewables, and energy storage, our company has been involved in the following areas: - Solar Thermal Power: Automatic systems for geometry verification in large concentrating mirrors. Wireless control systems for large solar fields. New thermal-fluids with reduced toxicity. High precision tracking systems. Development of reliable Stirling systems. Development of new surface coatings for improving absorption, reflexion and other optical properties. Bio-Oils for mechanical systems (hydraulic fluids and lubricants) - Solar Thermal for Heating and Cooling: Development of new surface coatings for improving absorption, reflexion and other optical properties. Developing new bio-oils useful as thermal fluids. Improvement of sortion properties of materials for solar cooling - Solar Photovoltaics: Improving Polimeric PV efficiency Wireless control systems for large solar fields. Developing sensors and drives for high precision tracking systems (Concentrated solar PV). - Wind turbines: Analyse, design and optimisation of wind-power mechatronic systems (control algorithms for optimum operation, gear boxes and blades driving systems optimisation) Design-develop and manufacte specific sensors, monitoring equipments for proper maintenance, wear analysis for gear boxes, etc Bio-Oils for mechanical systems (hydraulic fluids and lubricants) - Biodiesel: Work in transesterification processes for biodiesel and biolubricants production since 1997, using used vegetable oils (UVO) and tallow as raw material. Nowadays: Tekniker is leading the Spanish network for making use of glicerine adding value to this product. Producing Bio-diesel by mean of hetereogeneus catalysis Our company is able to characterize biodiesel samples according to EN 14214 regulation. - Energy Storage Design of novel energy storage systems like high speed flywheels including magnetic bearings. We are also interested in heat storage Hydrogen: our company is working in the development of protective coatings for cells and in the design of porous materials for hydrogen storage
